These selections appear at the top of every lesson; however, their primary function is to allow users to filter for content.
As always, be sure to SAVE before leaving this page. You may return and edit at any time before submitting.
If a field is already completed, it is part of the assigned work order. Develop the content to that specification and do not alter it here. For example, the work order could be for a quick query science lesson for middle school.
If the fields are empty, develop content as you see fit.

At least one selection is required, but two are allowed. The subject must match the Categories.

Learning Style
Learning styles align with social-emotional learning (SEL) and allow students to recognize their preferences and build learning skills that work for them. (See Adding Social-Emotional Learning to Lessons.)
The learning style is established first. Choose at least one, but no more than two.
Content is developed incorporating the style to improve information processing and strengthen recall. The learning style is most evident in the Get It! and Got It? sections.
Kinesthetic
Do not confuse tactile activities, which benefit all learning styles, with kinesthetic activities. Kinesthetic learning elements include whole-body movement, which connects to reality and generates learning from concrete experience or simulation.
Kinesthetic learners need to touch things and move. They prefer fast-paced, results-oriented learning, but they often lose focus or have sudden bursts of energy. Develop content that focuses that energy.
Visual
Content with videos or graphics is not specifically visual. Content that allows the learner to stop and visualize, like how-to videos, makes a lesson visual. Visual learners need to see, think, write, and process.
Visual learners learn through observation and recording. They need to see or visualize concepts, process what they see, and write what they see in their own words with their interpretations.
Auditory
Just as video does not constitute a visual element, it does not always appeal to an auditory learner. These learners enjoy conversation and respond well to music and other rhythmic devices.
Auditory learners process and retain information best when verbalizing it in their own words. They are logical learners who appreciate organization and repetition.
Personality Style
Elephango’s four personality archetypes are a simple yet practical sketch of students’ strengths, weaknesses, communication preferences, motivations, and interests.
First, determine the personality style or styles (no more than two). Incorporate elements of the style into the content.
Use the assessment tool below to confirm the developed content’s personality style or styles.
Time/Units
The amount of time the learner will need to complete the entire lesson, including any projects or activities.
It should align with the resource type. For example, a quick query cannot take 3-4 hours.
30 minutes to an hour* | 1-2 hours
Less than an hour* | 3-4 hours
*I have no idea either. They’re the same. Pick one. | 5+ hours |
Resource Type
Skill Sharpener
It takes little time to accomplish and evaluate. The student presents or teaches the material to another person, using technology to demonstrate a clear understanding.
Quick Query
The student applies the information or demonstrates functional knowledge of the information via a structured test, presentation, short essay, detailed experiment, or another assignment.
Digging Deeper
Students synthesize the information with prior knowledge meaningfully, allowing for a higher level of learning via independent research, creative writing, observations, etc.
