Examples of Content Editing

Please review several of these Draft to Live Examples to see how content is edited.

Each document contains a link to the current live version of the lesson, a bulleted summary of what was edited, and what the developer submitted.

NOTE: These submissions were created over a year ago under a different developing structure, so they will not match content produced in 2024.

Some critical edits include the following.

  • Use AI to rewrite content to the correct grade band. (Always select the youngest grade.)
  • Use AI to generate answers to all questions.
  • Use AI to ascertain if the facts and provided answers are correct.
  • Ensure all media can be used and is appropriately cited.
  • Ensure all quotes or quoted material are accurate and can be used. If necessary, use AI to rewrite or summarize. Cite properly.
  • Replace any content that is missing, no longer available, or inappropriate.
  • Add content when needed. Use AI if suitable.
  • Replace all outside links with original content if possible. Use AI if suitable.
  • Create PDFs when necessary or replace them with H5Ps. Add existing PDFs when appropriate.
  • Create, edit, or adjust H5Ps as required.
  • Add images or graphics.
  • Ensure the hook is attention-grabbing and fun.
  • Ensure the Go! has multiple real-world project ideas (if possible) that are easy to follow and well organized. (Exception: K-2 lessons can have one straightforward project.)
  • Rewrite the Short Description to be fun and engaging.
  • Use coding in the Title and Short Description if necessary.
  • Format to match our style.
  • Clean up the writing to match our style.
  • Correct all grammatical errors.
  • Ensure the lessons are entirely self-guided and do not rely on a teacher.
  • Ensure the lesson only speaks to the student. The writer has no place in the lesson (i.e., let’s, we, our, etc.).

IMPORTANT: You must collect citations for every single element in the lesson that is not original or licensed by Edovate and embed them in Area 4: Resources.

NOTE: If your edits to a lesson are so great that it no longer resembles what was initially submitted, change the contributor to Elephango Editors. Below are two such examples.
