Badges

What Are Badges in Elephango?

Badges are a fun and motivating way for students to track their learning progress and celebrate their achievements in Elephango!

Each badge consists of 3 to 6 lessons focusing on a similar topic. These lessons are usually within the same grade band but can span different subjects, giving students a rich, cross-curricular experience.

How Badges Work

Lessons and Points

Students earn one point for each lesson they complete. When they finish all the lessons in a badge, they are awarded the following.

The badge icon (created specially for each badge) will appear on their profile page.

All the points from the badge are available at once.

Fun and Recognition

Each badge has a creative name and a custom icon, making earning them exciting and rewarding!

Important Details About Badges

Finalization

Once a badge is Live, you cannot delete lessons, change point values, or remove the badge itself. This helps maintain consistency and fairness for all users.

Pending Status

If you need to make a change, you can do the following.

Set a lesson to Pending: It stays in the badge, but new users cannot complete it. Students who have already earned the badge won’t notice any difference.

Set a badge to Pending: It will become unavailable for new users but remain visible to those who have already completed it.

Flexibility

A badge’s subject and grade band can be changed even after it’s Live.

Lessons within a badge can also have their subject and grade band updated.
If you adjust these, review the whole badge to ensure everything still fits together.

Multiple Badges

A single lesson can be part of more than one badge, offering students even more ways to earn recognition for their work!
